Tips for traveling seniors.

-Dr. Kathy Johnson, PhD, CMC

Many senior citizens spend their retirement by traveling, making up for all the places they didn’t have time to visit while they were working. Here are some tips to make your traveling experience the best possible.
  • Use the internet to find good deals on flights, car rentals, and hotels. It is also helpful to sign up for notifications from travel sites, like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. so that you are sent e-mails once deals become available.
  • If you are traveling to see a specific attraction, check their website to see when they have discount days and try to plan your trip accordingly.
  • During a road trip, pack food from home to store in coolers, so that you can save money on eating out in a restaurant.
  • Also, check out http://www.exploritas.org/ which provides senior citizens with all sorts of information they need to travel, while on a budget.
